Is the $1,000 automatic, or do I have to request it?
You have to request it. Even if Treasury opened your child’s account automatically, you must elect the $1,000 by submitting Form 4547 and choosing the pilot program contribution. You can do that in the Trump Accounts app, on the Trump Accounts website, or in your IRS Individual Online Account. If you already requested it, you don’t need to do it again.
Different account states, not a required order. Some donor deposits can arrive before you claim the account.
