Sources & standards

Trust should be checkable.

We connect an answer to its source, explain what remains unknown, and make mistakes easy to report. We cannot promise that every source or interpretation is error-free.

How information gets published

  1. 01

Use the right source. IRS and Treasury for federal rules; Social Security for SSI; providers for account operations; companies for their own announcements. News reports are labeled and do not become government guidance.

  2. 02

Keep the evidence. Save a dated copy and the supporting passage. Re-fetching, source comparison and parts of the research are AI-assisted. An exact quotation match checks text, not its interpretation.

  3. 03

Stop unsupported publication. The build excludes records if any required passage is unavailable, changed or more than 30 days old, or its stored copy fails an integrity check. Building a page does not renew the source date. Changing an amount, rule or guide also invalidates its recorded editorial review until it is checked again.

  4. 04

Separate the unknowns. Individual eligibility, HR enrollment, ZIP rules and actual payment remain separate from an announcement. Errors can still occur; use the original source before acting.

What the labels mean

Fits the supplied answers
Your answers fit the published basic conditions. It is not an approval or a deposit confirmation.

Additional eligibility, geography, timing or enrollment rules need checking. Employer announcements always fall here. Stock pledges without actionable delivery terms are not shown in the finder.
Source retrieved
The date the source was actually fetched and its supporting text located. It is not the source’s publication date or a professional review date.

Amounts marked “up to,” “about,” “per family,” stock pledges and matches requiring your own money are not added to a per-child cash subtotal.

Who is responsible?

Seedlist is an independent information project. Its source checks and editorial preparation use AI assistance. No independent tax, legal or investment professional has signed off on this edition. Source availability is checked when the audit is run; continuous monitoring is not yet enabled.

Research themes come from a qualitative sample of public discussions, not a representative survey. Read the research and its access limits.
